This May I will give two lectures on Polish contemporary literature in Stockholm.
This city is just beautiful in Spring: the Nordic north is awakening in colours in an intensity that it is difficult to find anywhere else. I remember one April in Stockholm and the cherry trees in blossom... (I must find some photos of these trees). The lectures will not be so cheerful: about problematic issues with the construction of identity of Polish contemporary prose and about its characters and on melancholy in Polish women's writing. Yet, it will be fun - there is so much going on in Polish culture nowadays!
